6 Ways to Efficiently Clean Your Laundry Room

We use the laundry room to wash our soiled clothes. But, do you remember when you have last cleaned your laundry room? Most homeowners usually ignore the laundry room and forget to clean it regularly. You should also include your laundry room in your regular cleaning schedule. Step 1: Start With Washer

You should clean your washing machine not just to make visually appealing. But, it is important to remove the dust build up in ducts and hoses. You should also start to run a water cycle with hot water. Also, pour a cup of vinegar rather than detergent. After that, you should take a bowl, pour vinegar and water in it, and then you should use this solution to scrub the washing machine. 

You should finish it by running another empty cycle with hot water. This time you should not add vinegar in the hot water. For cleaning the outer section if a washing machine, you should wipe down all sides of washing with a clean cloth. After that, you should use a vacuum cleaner with an attachment to clear up the dust and debris behind the washing machine. Step 2: Wash Your Dryer

When you put a load in your dryer, then every time it will leave behind pieces of lint. These pieces will stop your clothes from drying properly. You should clean the dryer with a vacuum cleaner until no lint left behind. In addition to this, you should also look for stains inside the dryer. Finally, you should also wipe down the outer walls of the dryer and also do not forget to wipe down the exterior with a cleaning cloth. Step 3: Clean Other Appliances

Step 4: Wash Counters and Wipe Cabinets

Similar to your kitchen, you should also use wipes to clean the cabinets and countertops in the laundry room as well. It is very important to clean the surface and make it free from germs and bacteria. You should try to wipe down these surfaces at least two times a week. 

Step 5: Clean Your Laundry Baskets

This may seem unusual when we talk about cleaning the laundry basket. The laundry baskets only store dry clothes, then why should you clean them?  It is so because, after some time, the laundry baskets will start smelling. If you want to keep them fresh and clean, do not ignore them while cleaning your laundry room. You should wipe down plastic baskets with a clean cloth.

You should dip this cloth in a solution of vinegar and use it to wipe down laundry baskets.  Make sure you let it dry completely before you start using it again. If you are using a wooden laundry basket, then remove the clothes and clean it with the help of a commercial backpack vacuum. After that take it outside in the fresh air so that bad smell be removed. 

Step 6: Vacuum Clean the Floor

When you finish the cleaning process of all appliances inside the laundry room, then the next and final step is floor cleaning. You should clean it with a vacuum cleaner first and after take wipe it with a wet mop.

You should do floor cleaning in the end so that no dirt particles left behind on the floor. Before start vacuum cleaning, you should clean the surface and remove trash cans, hampers and all other objects from the way.
